Pultrusion

Pultrusion is a high speed process for producing continuous lengths of reinforced polymer structural shapes with constant cross-sections.

Two different methods are used for impregnation:
1.    Liquid resin is continuously injected into a mold where it impregnates the reinforcement
2.    Liquid resin impregnates the fibers before the impregnated fibers enter in the mold.

The mold is at a constant temperature allowing the resin to cure. Finished parts are then cut to the desired length. The reinforcement materials are in continuous forms such as rolls of fiber mat and doffs of fiber rovings.
