Prepreg

This process is designed to produce semi-finished fabrics, or unidirectional fiber tapes, impregnated with an uncured resin. Because the prepregs present a certain level of tack, they are rolled with a protective layer.

Prepregs can be manufactured in the following ways:

1.    Solvent Process

2.    Hot-Melt Process

3.    B-Staging Process

Prepregs are typically cured in an autoclave or using an out-of-autoclave process (compression molding).
